NSW RSA Twin Towns template

NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (NSW RSA) is a mandatory course in New South Wales for anyone who wishes to work in the liquor industry and to sell, serve or supply liquor. This course applies to anyone who is new to the industry or your RSA competency training took place more than five years ago. Zealifi is approved by the Liquor & Gaming NSW government to deliver the NSW RSA course via face to face and we have regular courses delivered at Twin Towns Services club.

If you are an international student on a VISA (subclass 500), you are unable to enrol or complete this course. You need to complete training with a CRICOS provider only. Any other international students can enrol or complete this course.

What’s included in the course? 1 day of training (over 7 hours), delivered by Zealifi’s experienced licensees and industry managers that will share their compliance experience to ensure you become empowered as a RSA worker. In our course we will distribute your interim certificate as a digital copy that will be emailed to you within 48 hours after the course.

The interim certificate is valid for 90 days allowing you to work throughout this time, you will need to take the interim certificate to a Service NSW centre to get your competency card processed. The competency card will be posted out to you, which is valid for 5 years. After the 5 years you will be notified by Liquor and Gaming NSW to complete your online refresher training course, you won’t need to complete the full course again. Also, included is the SITHFAB002 Provide responsible service of alcohol statement of attainment allowing you to use this to work in QLD, WA, SA and TAS.

For anyone new to the liquor industry or returning to a job requiring RSA competency card after 5 years, you can attend one of our fortnightly face to face classes at Twin Towns Services Club in Tweed Heads. Zealifi is approved by the Liquor and Gaming NSW to deliver this course.

Please note of you need to renew your NSW RSA competency this must be completed via the Liquor and Gaming NSW online program. Please check out our FAQ’s for further information.

The course covers the nationally recognised unit of competency SITHFAB002 -Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol plus Liquor and Gaming NSW specific state information.

Duration is 7 hours face to face, class attendance time is legislated by Liquor and Gaming NSW, class time includes completion of written and practical assessment. The program has been designed for entry level and intermediate experienced individuals.

All assessments are completed in class which includes a combination of multiple choice and short answer questions as well as assessed practical performances of simulated workplace situations, scenarios, and verbal questioning.

Zealifi will determine the support needs of our learners by asking our learners to complete a language, literacy, and numeracy support indicator, which is available upon request. This is completed prior to training and assessment to assess the learner’s suitability for their desired course and to identify if additional support may be required. Zealifi wants to ensure we can provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

You will receive two forms of recognition from our NSW RSA course:

No 1. NSW Liquor and Gaming Interim certificate which is produced by Liquor and Gaming NSW. This your credential for gaining your competency card.

No 2. Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment* for SITHFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol, enabling you to work nationally in the Liquor industry. This will be emailed to you. If you wish to obtain a paper copy of your statement of attainment there will be an additional charge of $15.00.

Statements of attainment do not expire QLD/WA/SA/TAS; however, the ACT and NT require the course to be recompleted every 3 years.

You will need to bring with you photo identification, your Unique Student Identifier (USI), your own pen and notepad.

We will provide you with a detailed workbook for both the national competency and the NSW state specific information. You will also have access to our online portal for additional support information and resources to read that could engage you for over 4 hours.
